London is one hell of a city. It houses between 12/14 million people at the moment (blimey!) and is considered one of four alpha cities in the world, together with Paris, Tokyo and New York. There is a lot to do in London. We had limited time here but still managed to explore the city our way.

Spot the Royal Guard at Buckingham Palace
If you haven’t spotted a royal guard while in London, have you even visited London? The chances to spot them are highest around Buckingham Palace, since that’s where the royal family lives. If you spot them marching, don’t walk in front of them. They will march on, no matter what’s in their path.
Breathe in the fresh air of plants in Sky Garden
Even though there are multiple botanical gardens in London, Sky Garden is our favorite. It sits on the top floor of the weird looking ‘Walkie Talkie’ building, which gives a great view over London city. It’s also free to enter!
Hear the chimes of Big Ben
Big Ben is the most famous clock in the world. It is still under construction (expected to be finished spring 2023) but nevertheless looks very iconic. The sound of Big Ben is one out of thousands, so make sure to hang around Big Ben once the hand of the clock hits the hour mark.
Take a selfie at the top of the London Eye
Another pillar in London’s cityscape is the London Eye. This ferris wheel, the fourth largest in the world, is a must when visiting London. A 30 minute ride will give you a great view of London.

Tip a street performer in Covent Garden
Covent Garden is considered the most important theater and nightlife area. Whoever came up with this we don’t know, but what we do know is there are a lot of performers on the streets here. Some good, some less. But it definitely cheers up the the gray streetscape.
Walk through Chinatown
Chinatown is always like a small island within a city, since the ethnical and cultural background of the habitants and their traditions is different from the rest of the city. This makes it an interesting place to visit, or even just walk through for a minute.

If you are a Harry Potter fan, you should at least find one recognizable Harry Potter filming location. There are a lot, such as platform 9 3/4, Diagon Alley, Ministry of Magic, Gringotts Wizarding Bank and so on. Up to you to find them!
