Hike to famous spots such as Preikestolen
Norway is known for its beautiful nature and it will not surprise you that hiking is the most popular activity to do here. A few of them are extremely popular all over the world due to the recognizable shape of the viewpoint, like Trolltunga and Preikestolen.
The hike to Trolltunga is challenging, it takes about 8-10 hours round trip, and covers approximately 23 kilometers. As you can imagine this is a tough hike, but in the end you are rewarded with a dramatic and iconic photo spot at the end of the route.
A more accessible hike, is the hike to Preikestolen. The trail is about 8 kilometers round trip and takes around 4 hours to complete. The view from the top is absolutely breathtaking, making it a must-visit destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. We would recommend to start the hike before sunrise, as this gives the scene even more beauty when the sun comes up just as you reach the top.
Norway's hiking season typically spans from June to September. During this period, the weather is milder, and the trails are more accessible, offering hikers the opportunity to explore the country's breathtaking landscapes. However, conditions can vary, and it's crucial to be prepared for sudden weather changes, even in the summer months. Winter brings snow and ice, making many trails challenging or closed. Hikers should check trail conditions, pack accordingly, and maybe even make the climb with a guide.
We made the hike to Preikestolen early November and it was already starting to be a bit slippery. We were told that Trolltunga was to dangerous for unexperienced hikers around November so we decided to not do the climb.

Drive through the fjords
Driving through Norway's fjords is a mesmerizing experience. The roads twist and turn, showing you amazing views of tall cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque villages nestled along the shores. Travelers can explore at their own pace, stopping at viewpoints and charming towns along the way, making a road trip through the Norwegian fjords a truly unforgettable journey.

Restaurants
Norwegian restaurants vary widely in terms of class and style. While you can find a lot high-class, fine dining establishments that offer a sophisticated culinary experience with a fusion of global and local flavors, there are also plenty of casual and traditional eateries that provide a more relaxed atmosphere.
The Norwegian cuisine is a delightful mix of traditional and modern influences. Fish, especially salmon and cod, takes center stage in many dishes, with gravlaks (cured salmon) being a favorite. While dining out in Norway may be pricier than in some other countries, the quality of the food and the overall dining experience can be quite high. We highly recommend treating yourself to a visit to an upscale restaurant at least once during your holiday to savor a truly delightful dining experience if your budget allows it.
Coffee (Cafés)
Norway is also a seriously coffee-loving country. Cafés in Norway aren't just about the coffee; they're cozy havens where locals and visitors alike gather for a "kaffepause" aka a coffee break. Whether enjoying a quiet moment alone or engaging in lively conversations with friends, these coffee spots offer a welcoming refuge to savor both the beverage and the culture that surrounds it.
